We are very fortunate to have volunteer tutors who are passionate about our mission to motivate and mentor our students to improve their learning skills. In addition to reading and math, various games were played during break time. On the first day before studies began, the kids divided into two teams and built "towers" out of newpapers.  This was a great ice-breaker for the students and tutors to get acquainted and learn to work together. The games of Chess and Checkers were very popular with the students, and the tutors were thrilled to teach the ones who wanted to learn to play. The kids had a great time on the last day with a fun activity outside with Sherah Bassard who provided them with t-shirts to paint and take home.

2016 Summer Tutoring Enrichment Program (STEP)
Our Student Achievement Ceremony was held on Thursday, July 28, 2016  to celebrate a job well done for the students and volunteer tutors. We would like to again thank Globetrotting for Good for soliciting Clay Pit to sponsor the backpacks with school supplies to reward the students for their hard work, and to give them a great sendoff for the upcoming school year. Gattis Pizza once again sponsored our last day ceremony with twelve delicious pizzas for the students and volunteer tutors.  We are so grateful for their support for the past seven years.
